Why is it necessary for children and adults alike to gorge themselves on fast food daily? The truth of the matter is that fast food is easily attainable and relatively cheap, to very big factors driving the eating habits of modern people. In some places where the poverty rate is high or in families that don't have the common dinner time, children are accessing and consuming the cheapest and sometimes only source of nutrition, fast food. The popularity of this now fast food nation has given a rapid increase in childhood type 2 diabetes. Since 1994 the percentage of type 2 diabetes has increased by 25%. That means one quarter of children in the United States have a form of diabetes not caused by genetics but possible over eating or poor nutrition.
To help stop this rapidly increasing occurrence parents and school officials need to take a more active role in supplying the children in their lives with healthier food and a greater knowledge of what a healthy diet really is and can do for you.

1. yes. I need recent newspaper articles and also laws that were passed concerning the topic.
2. - guns are no longer needed for the regular citizen.
- guns are being used to create a climate of fear in cities.
- military personnel and law enforcement are the only ones that need to have firearms.
3. The fact that some people who go through the whole process of purchasing a firearm and still use it the way it was not intended to be used.
4. Although scholars have argued that some people still use legally purchased guns for harm, a careful examination suggests that it is a very small fraction of owners who do so, just like people who get prescriptions from doctors and then sell them to others on the street.

Although some people may argue that firearms should only be used for defence, hence law enforcement personnel and the military, I use this notion to show that if someone broke into your house with an illegal firearm and was threatening your family wouldn't you rather have a gun than a baseball bat to defend them.
P 76 #2
Part 1: Regular citizens should not be punished for the crimes of people who chose to buy and use firearms irresponsibly.
Part 2: How can a person tell weither or not a customer will use a firearm that they purchase the way it was intended to be used.

Gun control has become a major concern in the present society lately. Parents want to know that their kids are safe outside of their house and people are getting tired of gangs terrorizing their neighborhoods. It seems that the only way officials know how to deal with this is to target the gun owners and everyone else that may be associated with firearms. In reality its not the the law abiding gun owners but the criminals who are getting guns illegally and unregistered. What can be done to stop the oppression of the law abiding citizens and the new regulations that they now have to consent to.
I think officials need to stop this current oppression of the second amendment by following the illegal trafficking of firearms in this country to criminals. Every innocent citizen has a right to own a firearm and that right should not be overridden by extensively increased prices and arduous background checks and waiting periods.

If ever there was an idea custom-made for a Jay Leno monologue, this was it: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" (AKA the second amendment). It's alot like saying as long as there is oppression, socialism, and a general threat to the sanctity of the Democracy in this state citizens should not and will not be deprived of their right to own and operate a firearm. I have to sympathize with law enforcement though because there is a rising problem with illegal gun trafficking, but isn't that the point, it's illegal and criminals will still use them even if they are completely outlawed. So stop stop hurting the law abiding citizen with higher prices and more red tape!

Although people may have a misconstrued idea of their heritage they often take no pride or dignity in the heritage they do know. People need to take a more active interest in trying to figure out just who they really are. It's easily understood that it may not be the simplest thing trying to figure out your heritage, but why can't people take pride in what makes them who they are. The same pride every American should take in his/her country is the pride every person should take in their heritage and where they come from.

I feel that it is voter turnout is a major concern of this democracy. To go along with the voter attendance is also the knowledgeable choice based on voter understanding of the candidates. Democracy is based on the peoples choice, so if no one is turning out or if they are making uninformed decisions, democracy in this country will fail.
Another person might not agree with me because they may feel that it is the prejudices and biases that are changing candidates and voting outcomes.

Parents Argument
Parents would argue that their children deserve the best and why can't the best be made to be more accessible to the less fortunate.
Administrators Argument
Parents need to be more involved in the affairs of their children and take a more active role in searching for the best type of education offered. Why should diversity affect enrollment when it really depends on the academics of the student?
Teachers Argument
Discipline needs to be a much more examined topic because the children are beginning to not care. Many parents also need to take a more active role in disciplining their children and teaching them values.
Students Argument
The students should be allowed to chose where they go to school and whether or not they want to broaden their education or just receive their diploma and move on.

Puzzles/challenges
School choice for parents is very important but when the choice is between a very poor educational norm of the area and a very well organized but costly private school, some may have to choose the lesser by default.
Questions
What kind of information about the local school system is available to parents and how current and unbiased is it? How accessable is that information? Why can't teachers be held accountable for producing better and more involved class periods, in order to raise a childs enthusiam about a subject?
Alternatives
Information about schools can be more detailed and diverse, either by mail or by media of some sort. Parents can take a more active role in trying to attain such information. Use whatever makes private schools so appealing and successful in public schools.
